Donutz Triploid is a three-way indica/sativa hybrid strain that is as flavoursome as it sounds. It was bred by crossing red by crossing Donutz with FC4N and VCP-S2. Triplois strains are not Genetically Modified Organisms – please read the explanation at the foot of this strain description.

Donutz plants are straightforward to grow, produces high yields in all growing environments and boast very high levels of THC production. These plants are robust and have an average inter-nodal distance, as befits its balanced hybrid status. Grown indoors it has a fast flowering time of 45 – 5 days. Outdoor harvests in the northern hemisphere should be ready between September 20th – October 5th. At maturity the buds and leaves are light green and purple with a very frosty appearance.

The terpene profile is similar to that of freshly-baked donuts with vanilla and cinnamon notes and a hint of fuel. Total cannabinoid production is between 30 – 35%, approximately 30% of which is THC. The effect is potent, creative and social while being extremely laid-back and relaxing.

What is Triploid Cannabis?

Cannabis naturally exists in nature as a diploid with two chromosomes. Through intentional breeding and a process of selection Humboldt Seed Co.  has harnessed a rare phenomenon by creating tetraploid plants using a natural chemical (colchicine) derived from the bulb of the autumn crocus (colchicum autumnale). These tetraploid plants are then crossed with diploid plants, resulting in progeny bearing three chromosomes, known as triploid seeds. These improved cannabis seeds result in enhanced genetic vigour and hitherto unprecedented possibilities. Triploids are, however, 99% infertile and therefore not suitable for breeding purposes.
